LABAN EVENT has the objective to reinforce and spread a culture of dance tied to “the contemporary Laban universe” at Monte Verità (Ascona, Switzerland) a place of historical and primitive trials of the “new dance”, with knowledgeable and attentive gaze to contemporary research of Rudolf Laban’s work in the performative arts, choreological studies, somatic therapy, educational and industrial work.
This years Laban Event reflects on the founders of Ausdruckstanz and Tanztheater with the gaze of those who lived part of their artistic life alongside the masters. This relationship of growth and succession is what allows to a living tradition of evolving and adapting to changing times.
